Once again my favorite news station gives me some material. The weather person realized the mistake, but couldn’t do anything about it. I’m thinking the temperature was supposed to be 60 degrees, but I guarantee the temperature shown is not a beautiful Arizona Spring day!

In this sentence:
The weather person realized the mistake, but couldn’t do anything about it.
The comma after mistake is incorrect–there should be no comma at all in that sentence. The only way a comma would be correct there would be if the sentence read: “The weather person realized the mistake, but she couldn’t do anything about it.
I will research that. It seems to me that “she” is understood, but you very well could be right. Thanks!
